Karvaan completed another milestone by organizing its 13th volume at NIT campus. This wasn’t just any other poetry slam; it was ‘the poetry slam’. From the beginning till the end, audience were kept engrossed in the event and there wasn’t a single dull moment. The event started with a song by Kunal Sinha. Melodious songs in Kunal’s mellow voice, was the perfect way to start the show. Show was hosted by Ayush Mishra, who kept the audience engaged with his wit, humor and out of the box comments.

The Broken Scooter, Chhattisgarh has organised Karvaan at different places, but this one would be marked as among the most memorable ones. There were fifteen participants in the show and they recited some soul touching poems.

The participants who stole the show were Kartik Pandey and Mahendra Kumar. Kartik intonated poems love, terrorist attack in Peshawar’s Army school, death of a kid in Ryan international school. He touched these delicate issues in very sensitive manner and made the audience to think about the kind of world we are living in. That is one of the most important qualities of a great artist. Similarly, Mahendra Kumar’s poem on patriotism and Kashmir issue made the audience incessantly chant Vande Matram and Bharat Mata ki Jai. His poems aroused nationalistic feelings in everyone present in the room.  However, other participants were no less either. They raised the event’s standard with their exquisite and lyrical poems.

Finally, the show ended with jubilant songs in Sanjesh Meshram’s melodious voice. He sang soft Hindi and English songs and made the audience sway to the tune. He made sure that the show that has been so incredible throughout has an amazing ending as well.

All the credit for conducting this wonderful show can be given to Ahvaan, a cultural committee of NIT. Ahvaan along with the Broken Scooter team made sure that the students of NIT witness the most literary event of their life.
