Knowledge grows when shared, they say. Well so does talent, creativity and a mindset – A mindset to initiate the change. A change that is necessary to revolutionize the youth to take it upon their own hands. A writer undertakes the job to convey his views to the people and initiate this change. Few of these budding writers met at the Crossword Book Store, Colors Mall last week at ‘Writers’ Meet’ organised by The Broken Scooter, Chhattisgarh. In discussion were various topics necessary to make amend for the present generation approach towards literature and reading.
We were privileged to host a great motivational speaker and a debutant author, Mr. Dinesh Chandwani as our guest author. He just had his first book published titled “EMEG-A face off with fear”. Brilliantly useful hacks and tips about writing and publishing and were given by Mr. Chandwani. And this convoy was steered by Mr. Vibhash Kumar Jha– a four-time national award winner and a prominent name in the area of journalism. We had participants from places all around the state, from all the different fields and of all the age groups that provided a bit of thrust to the whole purpose of this meet.
After introducing them to each other, everyone enjoyed themselves to a session of Impromptu writing whereby amazing flair was witnessed. They were asked to narrate their work. Even the honored guests mingled up with the young lot to provide two amazing pieces. While Dinesh sir told us about his favorite fictional character-The Joker, Jha sir preached us on how to be ‘original’ in this age of pseudo-sism. Imitation is the simplest form of flattery. But as an artist, as a writer, isn’t it suicide?
That is how a group of these up-and-coming writers decided to spend their weekend. The session ended with a Q&A session with Dinesh sir and each participant got a signed copy of his new book to take home with. We look forward to more of such amazing and intellectual meets.
