365 odd days, more than 50 interesting articles, approximately 17 successful community building events, more than 1700 amazing followers, this can be summarized as a beautiful year of togetherness of The Broken Scooter Chhattisgarh’s family comes to an end just to mark a beginning of yet another year with loads of fun frolic articles, events, and more information about things happening around you. Today I want to cherish, relish and celebrate the memories from this entire year with all you lovely readers out there. Being a part of this wonderful family all of you must be inquisitive to know about the person behind the scenes who took the initiative to bring the best of Chhattisgarh and to keep us all connected. Am I Right?

So guys meet the girl, our “Baagad Billee”, Shrishti Trivedi, who brought the scooter vrooming to Chattisgarh and took us on the most exciting “wryde” around the state compelled by her obsession to explore the best of Chhattisgarh. Hailing from a small village called Pahanda in Chhattisgarh she always took pride in her state wherever she was. During her graduation, while pursuing her bachelor’s in law from Kalinga University Odisha she was inspired by the functioning of The Broken Scooter, Odisha founded by her close friends Bhanu and Deepsha. ”This was the driving force that motivated me”, says Shrishti, as she recounts the help of her friends Bhanu and Deepsha to build the roots of The Broken Scooter Chhattisgarh. She quotes “The day I completed my master thesis for LLM from National Law University, Hyderabad I was sure that I wanted to bring this e-zine up to let people know more about Chhattisgarh.” She feels that most people in this generation do not recognise the beauty of our state and lack knowledge about our culture, our roots and things happening around us. People outside Chhattisgarh do not recognize its heritage, its growth, development and are unaware of the best of this state. She says that this e-zine is not just about articles it’s more about connecting people and bringing them together culturally, socially and community wise.

The Broken Scooter, Chhattisgarh kick started a year back with an impactful article covering the facts about Chhattisgarh, which went viral with approximately 50,000 views and 5,000 shares. A team building process was then initiated and to her surprise many contributing writers, photographers and artists came up wanting to volunteer for the website, covering different arenas. The team did not limit itself to publishing articles alone, as they had a vision of community building. Henceforth The Broken Scooter started taking up projects like “Matargashti, Raipur” with the Raipur municipal corporation organizing street events promoting health and wellness. They also have worked with various cultural, literary and photography clubs of premier universities of Raipur.

The timeline of TBS marks the inception of “KARVAAN” – a poetry slam, which begun around six months ago by Team TBS and since then eleven successful volumes have been conducted at various places around the city with many more to come up this year. Karvaan is an attempt to acknowledge, and provide people with a platform to discover the hidden poet in oneself, letting the world taste the essence of true poetry from young talents. More than 100 poets have been associated with TBS in these 11 volumes and have performed their soulful poetry, leaving the audience mesmerized.

The concept of Live Rooftop Jamming was also launched, that brought together melodious singers and musicians from our very own city. The two successful events of this live musical jam session marked astounding, breathtaking and passionate performances where singers and musicians came together and left people spell bound with their magical Midas touch.

Being a part of this team I have had a fascinating, remarkable and memorable journey on my broken scooter. So guys keep scooting with us because this is just the beginning with many more events lined up for you in our garage. To mark the start of a new year of TBS very soon we would bring to you, “Kathakaar” an evening to tell those stories buried in your diaries, a “Writers meet up” for all the incredible writers to bring in an evening for the love of writing and literature. Finally, for all the insane superhero fans, tune in for a “Comic Club” which shall also be coming up very soon in your vicinity. So stay geared for more. Happy scooting!
