Wordsmiths of Raipur presented some amazing poems in Karvaan volume 11, held on 23rd of July. The poetry slam was organised in The Arabian Oasis café, located on the fifth floor of Colors Mall. This café was particularly chosen for the literary event for its tranquil ambiance and impressive interior. The glass walls of the café gives a clear view of Raipur’s skyline, and the heavy downpour outside just made the evening even more rhythmical.
As Wordsworth had said “Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquillity.” Poetry really is the spontaneous overflow of feeling and even most mundane thing can become interesting when elevated poetically. This line was proven to be correct when these talented poets of Raipur, recited some extraordinary odes on different genre like, politics, love, romance, hate, crush etc.
Karvaan gives a platform to these closet poets to showcase their talent to people and get appreciation for the same. For this volume of poetry slam, fourteen participants from different age group were selected from the hosts of applicants. Students from various colleges like Hidayatullah National Law University, National Institute of Technology etc. enthusiastically participated in the event. These scribblers of Raipur created an aesthetic environment with their words. Poonam Ritu Sen, Nirupama Patel, Sanuj Gritlehre, Mushkan Bhansali, Durganshi Jal, Neeti Solanki, Kartik Pandey, Sandeep, Raj Tiwari, Nishtha Joshi, Shruti Agrawal, Aastha Mandhani, Sourabh Acharya and Ayush Kumar Mishra were nothing less than splendid that evening.
This volume of Karvan has been regarded as one of the best till now and all the credit can be given to Shrishti, Abhimanyu, Anmol and everyone associated with TBS team. The program was hosted by Ayush Mishra, who skillfully conducted the event and kept the energy up throughout the show. People from various age groups came to enjoy this poetic event. The Karvaan team this time arranged for food packets as well. The scrumptious food served by cafe and soul food by Karvaan made it into an evening worth remembering.
Great poetry was complemented by great music; Sanskaar Vaidya kept the audience engrossed with some great melodies. This year Karvaan also paid tribute to the legendary singer Chester Bennington. Some of the great songs of this celebrated singer including ‘Numb’ were played during the show. The show ended with some great memories and with a hope that next volume will be even grander than this.
