Now that was some one catchy phrase that really caught my attention! The monsoons and late evenings at work makes you crave for one eternal and timeless drink – ‘chai’. A cup of tea after a long day at work is everything you need to unwind and have a nice time.
The quest for that perfect cup of tea has taken me to the lengths and breadths of Raipur and this guy deserves a special mention!
Located at the footpath of the square of link road near Telibandha lake is a ‘Kulhar chai corner’ and I was tempted to try it. Luv Singh Rajput hails from Bihar and despite traveling lot of places around India, and doing odd jobs to earn his livelihood, making an awesome cup of tea is what he settled for. The favourite in the menu is ‘Masala chai’ – the masala is made at his home, and people who have had tea here swear by the fact that it’s taste cannot be replicated.
I found myself rejuvenated after this awesome cup served in ‘Kulhars’ and for all the hygiene freaks, he has a fresh stock of Kulhars which ensures each one gets a new one!
There are not many tea vendors which think about people’s health and the environment as well! That’s exactly the reason why Luv Singh serves tea in these miniature earthen pots which are easily degradable compared to plastics and disposables.
A little hack for the tea lovers: Many swear by the fact that nibbling at corners of the kulhar lends a magical taste to the tea! They say, when you nibble at the kulhar, the tiny bits of clay in your mouth provide that extra bit of flavour to your tea and gives it a more earthy feel. But we would leave that to your choice!
A cup of tea makes everything better but a kulhar of chai makes everything the best. Go try it now!
